Gov AbdulRazaq Hails Tinubu’s Swift Military Response After Deadly Attack in Kwara

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Thursday expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s deployment of troops to Kaiama Local Government Area would help restore peace following a deadly terrorist attack.
AbdulRazaq spoke with State House correspondents after meeting the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He said he briefed Tinubu on the attacks in Kaiama and thanked him for the swift establishment of Operation Savannah Shield.
“The President has directed the armed forces to move in, and to clean up the place and make sure peace and calm is restored,” the governor said.
AbdulRazaq added that the operation would go a long way in deterring further attacks and bringing stability to the affected communities.
He also noted that the first commander of Operation Savannah Shield had already reported in Ilorin and commenced work.
He emphasised that the state government would continue to rely on the military and other security agencies to stabilise the area.
Politics Nigeria recalls that suspected terrorists on Tuesday launched deadly attacks on the Worro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, with scores feared dead.
