Archbishop Reveals Prophecy About Tinubu’s Victory In 2027
The Secretary-General of the Charismatic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Archbishop Chivir Chianson, has claimed that God revealed to the bishops that President Bola Tinubu would win the 2027 presidential election.
Chianson made the disclosure on Saturday during an interview on Arise Television.
He insisted that the prediction was a prophetic message and that the bishops were confident it would come to pass.
The cleric said Tinubu would not only emerge victorious in the 2027 election but would also perform better in his second term.
“As bishops, we are priests and we are also prophets. If you check in the Bible, whenever God wanted persons who would rule over the nation of Israel, He always sent His prophets. He always sent His own servants to that anointing.
“So what we said about President Tinubu was a prophetic message. Come 2027, I’ll be back here in this studio, and you would see that what we said was right. God told us President Tinubu will win. He’s not only going to win, he will perform better,” Chianson said.
His remarks came days after the CBCN formally endorsed Tinubu for a second term, declaring its support for his re-election at the organisation’s 2026 synod.
The President-General of the conference, Archbishop Leonard Bature Kawas, announced the endorsement on Wednesday, saying it followed the bishops’ assessment of the Tinubu administration.
Kawas argued that the President had demonstrated inclusiveness in his appointments despite the controversy that surrounded the Muslim-Muslim ticket on which he contested the 2023 presidential election.
He also credited Tinubu with supporting the emergence of Christian governors across the country and praised the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for openly demonstrating her Christian faith.
“He did not only appoint at the national level; he also supported the emergence of Christian governors to be the majority in Nigeria. He has stood with Christianity alongside his wife,” Kawas said.
The bishop further praised the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for appointing a Christian preacher as its national leader, describing the development as unprecedented.
“Also, for the first time, the ruling party appointed a born-again Christian and preacher of the gospel to be the national leader of the party,” he said.
Kawas said the bishops would continue to support Tinubu through prayers and advocacy, particularly on policies and programmes they believe could contribute to Nigeria’s development.
“We are here today to reassure him of our solid support; we are standing with him in prayers and advocacy for the good programmes he has brought forth for the liberation of Nigeria,” he said.
He added that the conference’s support would continue into the 2027 election and beyond if Tinubu remained willing to serve as President.
“We stand with the president today, and as long as he’s willing to be our president and even come in 2027, we will still be standing with him.
“On this, this house has endorsed him for the 2027 presidency,” Kawas declared.
The CBCN President-General also disclosed that Tinubu had responded to the bishops’ call for the Federal Government to engage United States President Donald Trump over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
However, Kawas urged the Federal Government to adopt a broader approach to political appointments by involving religious leaders from both Christian and Muslim communities.
He argued that clerics should be considered for political appointments, maintaining that religious leaders could make meaningful contributions to governance and national development.
Meanwhile, Chianson said the bishops would continue to speak truth to power but stressed that their engagement with the President must be guided by the Constitution and their religious principles.
“Yes, we speak truth to power. But that does not mean that when we want to talk to the President, we should behave like village headmasters toward the President or the nation. Our Constitution is the Bible that guides what we do and say,” he said.
