Atiku returns to Nigeria from Dubai after nine-month holiday

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has returned back to the country from Dubai been on a nine-month stay outside the country.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Atiku arrived in Nigeria on Saturday night through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. It was learned that his arrival is to reassert his political stature ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2019 general elections, who has been away from the country since February this year, was welcomed back to the country by close aides, associates, and immediate family.

This news medium learned that Atiku’s return is to prepare for the upcoming wedding of his son, Aliyu Abubakar, who holds the title of Turaki Adamawa, a position the former Vice President previously occupied before his being crowed as Wazirin Adamawa, the second-highest title in the Fombina Emirate.

It was also gathered that Atiku was expected to pay condolence to Zazzau Emirate over the demise of Alhaji Shehu Idris, Emir of Zazzau. He will also visit  the Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Barkindo Mustapha, over the death of late Khadija Mustapha, a stepmother to the Emir and mother to Atiku’s wife, Hajia Rukaiyya Atiku.
