Security Partnership: Ganduje Visits CDS, COAS, CoAS, CNS

In his effort to further consolidate partnership with security agencies, in securing Kano state, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje paid courtesy visits to the Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air Staff, at their headquarters in Abuja, Thursday.

After commiserating with them over the death of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, governor Ganduje reassured his government commitment in further working closely with all the institutions to improve the security situation in the state.

He commended heads of Army formations and Air Force Command in the state and assured a continued support and partnership with them, with the view to making the state safer.

At the office of the Chief of Defense Staff, General Leo Irabor, he expressed his administration’s satisfaction over “…the good working relationship with all Army and Air Force formations in the state. They are doing all the needful in working hard to see that the state is highly secured. I want use this opportunity to commend them on behalf of the government and people of Kano state.”

Also commended President Muhammadu Buhari “…for making it possible to allow the state provides Falgore forest to become a military training ground. Even last month over Six Thousand (6,000) were trained there.”

That, according to him, makes the forest to be inhabitable for criminals like armed robbers, kidnappers, cattle-rustlers, bandits, among others.

While speaking at the office of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Faruk Yahaya, he said “Security of our land is everybody’s business. As we have full cooperation of all the security agencies in the state, your officers and men there, proved to us, as a government, that, they can work closely with us to improve our security system.”

Adding that, the state government is happy with the way and manner they partner with other sister agencies, “…as there is no rivalry among our security agencies. We have to commend them through you. They are doing very well.”

At the office of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, governor Ganduje urged that, “Falgore forest is now a military training ground, courtesy of the approval we got from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari. When I visited and pleaded with him to approve that, so that criminals would not infiltrate, not to talk of finding a breathing space there.”

Governor urged the Chief of Air Staff, whether his office could also make use of the same forest. “We appreciate your officers and men in Kano for blending well with other sister agencies in the state. We have good security commitment in Kano and there is no in-fight between all the security agencies,” he disclosed.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Real Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, expressed his satisfaction and delight over the visit. And assured his support and commitment towards improving the security situation.

He also commended the governor for his effort in the security system of the state. Adding that, he would give all the necessary support in that direction. Also commended the governor for the visit.

All the Service Chiefs commended the governor for being the first person to pay such visit to them. While assuring him for their continuous support, cooperation and synergy they all appreciated the development taking place in the state.

Chief of Air Staff, AVM Amao hinted that, “I want assure the governor that we will continue to work closely with you. We also want to see what we can do in that forest. So as to make it safer and more secured. We will see how we can come in to maximize the security of the area.”

“Kano has provided a Model in the area of synergy between security agencies. Your style is working very effectively. I am encouraged with what I see in terms of synergy among security agencies,” the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Yahaya, commended.

He further disclosed that, “We are not meeting for the first time with the governor. I was in Kano when Colonel Dominic Oneya was the Military Administrator of Kano state, I was then his ADC. While governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was then the Commissioner of Works. I am very much familiar with the terrain in Kano.”
