We’re ready to have an Open discussion with Nigeria’s Government – Twitter

Twitter has expressed readiness to have an open discussion with the Nigerian Government over the suspension of its services in the country.

The Nigerian government shut down Twitter’s operations in the country a day after the social media giant deleted a tweet from the President’s official handle.

In a statement issued via its Policy handle, the social media giant disclosed that they are willing to negotiate with Nigerian authorities in order to restore their services in the country.

“Today marks one week since Twitter was blocked in Nigeria. We have informed the Nigerian government that we are ready to meet for an open discussion to address mutual concerns and see the service restored.”

“We remain advocates for the free and #OpenInternet everywhere. #KeepitOn”, the statement read.
