Biafra Protesters storm UK Parliament, accuse FG of Genocide in South-East [PHOTOS]

Agitators for a sovereign state of Biafra have stormed the UK Parliament in London protesting against an alleged genocide being perpetrated by the Nigerian government.

On Friday, the agitators, in a strong protest demanded an end to the killing of Igbo youths in Nigeria adding that the British government should “let Biafrans go”.

It will be recalled that Military and Police presence has significantly increased in the South-East region due to the activities of gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and the Eastern Security network.

Several police stations, courts and INEC offices have been destroyed by gunmen over the past few months prompting the government’s heavy security response. However, there have been reports of extra-judicial killings and human rights violations carried out by security agents in the region.

The protest is coming barely a week after President Muhammadu Buhari drew widespread condemnation over a tweet he made threatening ‘genocidal’ violence. He tweeted; “Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand”.

The tweet has since been removed by Twitter.
