A 2012 video showing the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu campaigning for a united Nigeria has emerged.
Kanu, seen clad in a grey coat, protested alongside other Nigerians against killing in Northern Nigeria by Boko Haram. He was heard saying that they were against Insurgents breaking up the country. The protest took place at the Nigerian Embassy in London in 2012.
He was heard saying: “My name is Nnamdi Kanu and the reason why we are here today, is to protest the killing of innocent women and children and men for that matter all over NIGERIA especially in the Northern Part of Nigeria”.
“We are not happy, we are not pleased with what is happening and that is why we are here today, as you can see there are a lot of Nigerians who are protesting about the killing of families”.
“People who are determined to tear the Country apart violently and it is not something that we support, it is not something that we will like to see continue”.
Kanu has since developed alternate views since then. He has used his group, IPOB to call for the disintegration of Nigeria for several years now.
He is currently in the custody of the Department of State Security Services, DSS and is facing charges of treasonable Felony, illegal possession of firearms and Terrorism.
This really shows that Kanu himself is playing double face in the so called IPOB struggle. He should just stop wasting the life of innocent youth via inciting them against government.
