VIDEO: “A Generator Company Got the Contract” – Oshiomhole clashes with Umahi Over Abuja-Kaduna Road Project

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has raised fresh concerns over the handling of the Abuja-Kaduna road rehabilitation project, alleging that the Federal Ministry of Works removed the contract from construction giant Julius Berger and reassigned it to a company without prior experience in road construction.
On Wednesday, Oshiomole queried the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi at a Budget defense session in the National Assembly, over his decision to take the project from Julius Berger and award it to a new company he alleged was run by Mikano, a Generator distribution Company.
In his words; “I share the concern of the Chairman about Abuja-Kaduna Road. You have no regret in revoking it from Julius Berger, Fine!
I’m not a director in Julius Berger and I’ll probably do the same but what I fail to understand is why you award the Contract to a new company that is formed by Mikano.
Mikano has been known for Generator distribution. They own the Company. They have no history of Road Construction. So why would you take a Job from a reputable company and give it to an Unknown Company that has no record of working anywhere?”
