BREAKING: Security Agents clash with Nasir El-Rufai at Abuja Airport, Seize Passport [PICS/VIDEOS]

Security operatives reportedly attempted to arrest former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Thursday upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, returning from Cairo, Egypt.

The claim was made by El-Rufai’s Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account shortly after the incident.

According to Adekeye, the operatives approached El-Rufai as he disembarked and tried to take him into custody. The former governor, however, reportedly refused to comply, insisting that he would only cooperate if presented with a formal invitation.

Adekeye’s statement read, “Security agents today attempted to arrest Malam Nasir El-Rufai as he arrived on a flight from Cairo. Malam El-Rufai declined to follow them without a formal invitation.”

He also alleged that the security personnel seized El-Rufai’s passport, taking it from one of his aides during the encounter.
