“I Know All These Guys” – Sowore Breaks Silence on Coalition with ADC, El-Rufai

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has ruled out any alliance with politicians linked to the All Democratic Congress (ADC) and key figures of the previous administration.

Sowore said there was no possibility of forming a political coalition with former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

He made his position clear during a televised interview on News Central on Friday while discussing electoral reforms and the need for transparency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Sowore, those now being presented as opposition leaders were central to Nigeria’s recent political and economic problems.

“You can’t see me in an opposition with a Babachir Lawal, El-Rufai or a Malami. These are guys that were killing this country as recently as two years ago.

“People like Peter Obi and the rest of them who said Labour Party was the best and greatest collection of people with great character, where are the senators and members of House of Representatives he used Labour Party to get?

“I say this categorically. I know all of these guys and that is why you cannot see me in an opposition coalition for the sake of opposition,” he said.

Sowore stressed that opposition politics must be built on credibility and accountability, not convenience. He argued that Nigerians deserve a new political direction rather than recycled leadership figures.

He also questioned the structure of emerging coalitions, warning that they risk becoming platforms for old power blocs seeking relevance ahead of the next election cycle.

The activist added that electoral reform must go beyond campaign promises and focus on strengthening institutions, voter confidence, and transparent results.
