Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a mocking remark at Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation in Nigeria.
Recall that Fani-Kayode, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and President Muhammadu Buhari’s fierce critic, was in Kano since Thursday for the President’s son, Yusuf’s wedding. The ceremony held on Friday.
In Kano, Fani-Kayode was in the company of Isa Pantami, minister of communications and digital economy; Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and other dignitaries, a number of which he (Fani-Kayode) has publicly attacked.
Despite his criticism of them, Fani-Kayode referred to them as “my friends”, adding that “it is a pleasure and a joy to be here”.
His presence and romance with people he has called all sorts of names attracted criticism from many social media users on Friday. But defiant Fani-Kayode said on Saturday that “politics is not war”.
Now, in a post via his known Facebook page on Saturday which seemed to criticise ‘FFK’, Igbokwe says he’d rather die of hunger, than ‘lick and swallow my vomit’.
“Nothing in this world will make me to lick and swallow my vomit in the name of trying to connect to the powers that be,” Igbokwe wrote on his known Facebook page.
“Let me die of hunger. This is the hallmarks statesmanship, honour, and civilization.”
