“We Are Not Bandits” — Miyetti Allah President Denies Terrorist Links

The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Badejo, has rejected claims linking his organisation to terrorism and banditry.

He said neither he nor the group is involved in any form of criminal activity.

In a video that surfaced online on Saturday, Badejo insisted that the organisation operates strictly within Nigeria. He added that it has no ties to foreign groups or external sponsors.

He explained that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore exists to defend the cultural and social interests of the Fulani people. According to him, the group was created to promote unity and peaceful living, not conflict.

“The organisation is based in Nigeria not abroad and everyone in Nigeria knows many Fulani organisations in Nigeria are to protect the lineage of the Fulani people not to fight or bring issues of conflict in the society.”

Badejo also addressed accusations that the group supports banditry. He described such claims as false and misleading.

“The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore that I’m heading everyone knows we are not bandits and the organisation is not supporting banditry.”

He said the central mission of the organisation is education and peaceful coexistence among communities across the country. He stressed that Fulani people must live in harmony with other ethnic groups.

“Our aim is to enlighten the Fulanis and teach them how to live in peace with one another and with other tribes and ethnicities.”

The Miyetti Allah leader further denied any personal involvement in criminal acts. He challenged those accusing him or the organisation of banditry to provide proof.

“Myself the head of this organisation, I’m not a bandit. These are all propaganda, our organisation is not into banditry and whoever thinks we are should come out and tell the world how.”

His remarks come at a time when insecurity remains a major concern in many parts of Nigeria, especially in areas affected by herder-farmer clashes. Public debate has continued over the role of Fulani groups in the crisis.

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore was established to represent Fulani herders and protect their welfare. The group has branches in several states and often speaks on issues such as grazing rights, land use, and conflict resolution.

In recent years, the organisation has drawn national attention following repeated attacks and clashes in northern communities. Some of these incidents have led to widespread suspicion and criticism of Fulani associations.

Badejo said his organisation remains committed to peace and community education. He maintained that its activities are limited to Nigeria and are not linked to violence in any form.
