Why I am Now Weak – Gov. Fubara Reveals After Sacking Commissioners

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has stirred reactions following remarks he made while delivering a speech at the New Telegraph Awards/Dinner Night.

Speaking at the event, the governor said, “I choose to be weak because I want peace in my state, weak because I need to survive and to protect the things that are not only dear to me but to the nation.”

He explained that his decision to adopt what some may consider a softer stance is driven by the need to maintain stability and safeguard the collective interest of the people.

Fubara also used the opportunity to dedicate his award to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), whom he described as his “Oga.”

“I want to also dedicate this award to my Oga, the FCT Minister, who discovered me,” he said.

This is coming after he sacked all his Commissioners, Special Advisers, others. following Tinubu’s second intervention to resolve the political dispute between him and Wike.
