Dr. Amechi Obiora, a renowned surgeon and co-founder of Eko Hospitals PLC, Lagos, is dead.
Obiora was the ‘O’ in the acronym, EKO, which was derived from Eneli, Kuku, Obiora, the three doctors that founded the popular medical centre.
Anambra State-born Obiora was said to have died after a brief illness at age 85. As of the time of publishing this report, POLITICS NIGERIA cannot ascertain the real date he passed on.
The late doctor studied at the Edo College in Benin City on a scholarship, and at Government College, Owerri, Imo State.
Obiora alongside his partners, Dr Alexander Eneli and Dr Sunday Kuku set up EKO hospital “to ensure Nigerians get a private hospital of international standards”.
