Again, Gov Abba Yusuf reels out his reasons for joining APC

The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has explained in detail, his reason for dumping the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf while speaking at his new party’s grand rally at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano said his decision to join the APC hinges on his desire to place the state in a strategic position.
According to the governor, being in the ruling party allows Kano State the opportunity to be at the heart of every decision taken at the national level.
Also stating that he hopes to secure a better future for the people of Kano, Yusuf said he could no longer stand and watch the state being sidelined from the centre.
He also explained that it is his responsibility as the governor of the state to provide active engagement for his people in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while unlocking accelerated development through stronger federal ties.
Yusuf said, “It is about placing Kano in a position where it can fully participate in national development and secure a better future for its citizens.
“With the support of our great party and the cooperation of the Federal Government, Kano State is better positioned to move forward with confidence and stability,” he said.
In addition, the governor appreciated the Vice President, Kashim Shettima for taking the lead to formally welcome him into the APC family.
Dignitaries present at the rally include Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the APC; Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate former APC national chairman; the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin; governors of various states – Jigawa, Sokoto, Kaduna, Katsina, Borno, Yobe, and Plateau – among several others.
