The Nigerian Government has initiated the process for valuation of property belonging to several politically exposed persons, including the embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Diezani’s Properties located in the highbrow Banana Island Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, include eighteen flats and six penthouses located at Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista, Plot 1, Zone N, Federal Government Layout.
The Government has listed several items belonging to the former minister for sale. These include: 125 pieces of wedding gowns, thirteen pieces of small gowns, forty-one pieces of waist trainers, seventy-three pieces of hard flower, eleven pieces of suit, eleven pieces of invisible bra, seventy-three pieces of veils, thirty pieces of braziers, two pieces of standing fan, seventeen pieces of magic skits, six packets of blankets, one table blanket and sixty-four pairs of shoes.
The Federal Government had earlier last week commenced the process of screening six hundred and thirteen independent valuers expected to manage the sale of the assets alleged to have been illegally acquired which have been permanently forfeited to it in about twenty-five locations across the country.
The total number of property marked for auction across the country is one thousand six hundred and twenty including cars, houses, phones, laptops, vessels and other valuables.
Lagos has the highest number of property that will be auctioned, including thirty one houses and five hundred and eighty-nine vehicles.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa earlier revealed that Jewellery worth N14 billion was seized from the embattled former minister.
Any suggestion about when and where to buy some of these items for my “Personal Collection” and memorabilia.
This is petty, childish and stupid. All this in a country where 90% of the people are struggling to find food to feed their family. The president of AfDB has confirmed that the abnormal has become the normal in the country. This is because the people have given up on electricity and depend on generators. Corruption has also become normal. The president goes off regularly for health checks in London while ordinary Nigerians are dying like flies, etc etc.
And how sure are they that there will not be looting after looting in a country that can’t boast of paying public school teachers’ salaries but borrows $200m for only mosquito nets?.

I profoundly couldn’t agree more. It’s increasingly becoming apparent that we’ve gone beyond mental health issues of our so-called leaders or rulers. We’re in deep downward spiral beyond redemption. They’re so eager to auction the loot of one of their fellow looters and thieves yet the woman in question is walking free in UK enjoying her looted funds. What a country!
The definition of corruption in Nigeria is so myopic. Who is more corrupt than Buhari himself since the beginning of the project called Nigeria. How many Fulanis are appointed to our backbone economic institutions at the detriment of other Nigerians. Is it in aviation, custom, immigration, army, police, NYSC, judiciary, Finance, agriculture, communication etc.
