Jonathan Vasta: Justice Odili’s house invaded ‘to ease her out’ ahead of 2023 election

Former Niger State All Progressives Congress Publicity Secretary Jonathan Vasta said Tuesday that the invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s house was planned “to ease her out of the Supreme Court” ahead of the 2023 general election.

Justice Odili’s Abuja house was invaded by security agents last Friday. Mr Vasta claimed the invasion was carried out because she was an obstacle for some people in getting through the ballot box in 2023.

“It is an orchestrated plan to ease Justice Odili out of the Supreme Court ahead of 2023 general election,” said Mr Vasta. “The 2023 General Elections is the main reason behind the action of some desperate politicians using the state agents.”

“From all the indices of failure everywhere, it will be difficult for some political parties or individuals to seek for the people’s mandate at any level, hence the need to prepare ground and have their way through the court.”

Mr Vasta said Justice Odili is a disciplined and accomplished woman, and her integrity hindered some people from securing strategic positions.

“I learnt that she is the second-in-command who is expected to succeed the current Chief Judge of the federation and that is why everything is being done to ease her out,” he continued.

“Our leaders should know that the forthcoming 2023 general election will not be business as usual. Nigerians are going through the hardest of times in the country’s history and therefore will not want to be manipulated in any way, including through the courts.”
