Prince Emmanuel Kanu, a junior brother to Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has weighed in on a visit by Igbo leaders to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
Kanu, in a statement shortly after the meeting, called on President Buhari to listen to the pleas of the Igbo leaders who requested for the release of the older Kanu.
POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that a group under the aegis of Highly Respected Igbo Greats, led by First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi, had visited Buhari on Friday and demanded the release of the IPOB leader.
Prince Kanu called on the President to consider the request by the eminent Igbo elders as a mark of respect for the Igbo nation.
He said that one of the ways to kick-start the process of national healing is the unconditional release of Kanu.
He expressed hope that Buhari would give urgent attention to the pleas of the elders.
That’s a great idea
in as much as we want kanu relised, we as much want refferendum, the Igbo are no the broom used to bound Nigeria.
Very good it carry latest news
Bringing genuine news with better communication
The plea of the elders should be granted to stop the agitation.
A terrorist like Kanu shouldn’t have to be released without facing the full wrath of the law. This will serve as a lesson to others.
The so-called Igbo group have call him to order and taught him the importance of respecting the law of the land.
I congratulate the Igbo leaders who went to the president to ask for the release of the Igbo hero NNAMDI KANU but I am sorry b/c Mr president Will not listen to them when we went to sokoto for father Hassan kuka’s ordination as the Bishop of sokoto church so I know him closely.the only way now for KANU to be release is to become a muslem.
Good step
Okwor
God is great
The fear is that he will again leave or go against elders Instructions and escape,he did it to Abaribe when he stood in as hi surety, well is nice if he release.
Oti Liv
