FCT Election: Low Voter Turnout at AMAC Polling Units [PHOTOS]

Voter turnout was low on Saturday morning at several polling units in the Abuja Municipal Area Council during the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections.
According to on-the-ground reports, Polling Units 006, 007, and 008 in the City Centre Registration Area revealed only a small number of voters as electoral officials began the voting process.
At Polling Unit 006, voting started around 8:30 a.m., but by 9:50 a.m., just a few people had cast their ballots.
The presiding officer expressed concern over the slow turnout, saying, “We are still waiting for people to come out and vote. Though we commenced at 8:30 a.m., as of 9:50 a.m., only seven people have voted.”
At Polling Unit 008, officials attended to the limited number of voters present while awaiting more residents. Despite the low turnout, electoral materials and machines were reported to be working smoothly.
“Everything is going on fine. There are no issues with the machines for now. We are waiting for more voters,” another presiding officer told our correspondent.
Security personnel were visibly stationed around the polling units to maintain order and protect electoral materials. Officers from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Nigeria Correctional Service were deployed to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
