Kanunta Kanu, younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Tuesday told the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami to “stop delaying the trial by filing a frivolous charges.”
Kanunta Kanu’s reaction is coming as the federal government filed a fresh charge bordering on alleged terrorism against Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja since his arrest in Kenya in June 2021.
“Treasonable felony is a word Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami loves so much. AGF Malami if you think Nigeria have a case against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, present it in the court and stop delaying the trial by filing a frivolous charges,” Kanu wrote on his known Facebook page.
Tuesday had been fixed to hear the application challenging the competence of the charge and jurisdiction of the court.
Should Kanu be rearraigned today based on the new charge, a fresh bail application will be taken.
