Benue PDP Suspends Publicity Secretary Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Benue State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has suspended its Publicity Secretary, Tim Nyor, over allegations of misconduct within the party.
The suspension followed a decision taken by the State Working Committee during a meeting held in Makurdi.
Party leaders accused the spokesman of actions considered harmful to party unity and contrary to internal rules.
The party said the measure would last for one month in the first instance. It added that an internal investigation has already been opened to examine the allegations against him.
Officials explained that further disciplinary steps could be taken depending on the outcome of the probe.
In a statement released after the meeting and signed by the State Secretary, Dan Nyikwagh, the party accused Nyor of disobeying directives and engaging in activities viewed as inconsistent with the values of the organisation.
According to the party leadership, the decision was reached in line with provisions of the PDP constitution that allow disciplinary action against any official found guilty of violating party principles.
The statement further made it clear that the suspension takes effect immediately. During this period, Nyor is not permitted to speak or act on behalf of the party at any level or participate in official activities.
Party officials stressed that the move was necessary to protect internal discipline and ensure that all members remain accountable to the party’s rules and structures.
They said the PDP in Benue remains committed to maintaining order and unity ahead of future political engagements in the state.
