[JUST IN] Osun Congress: Court delivers judgment on Aregbesola group’s suit

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of an Osogbo Federal High Court on Wednesday rejected jurisdiction in the suit filed by the 2, 517 aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the last Ward congress of the party in Osun State.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ayoo-Emmanuel in the ruling, which lasted about one hour, 30 minutes, held that issues relating to Congresses remain a domestic affair of political parties. He therefore struck out the matter.

There was heavy security presence at the court premises.

Four Hilux vans filled with armed and unarmed policemen were stationed in front of the court premises.

Members of ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola’s faction and those of the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, were present in court to witness the session.

  1. Where do aggrieved people go and to whom do they run for remedies, if courts decline to hear them? The suit was about a perceived awry exercise which occurred in Osun state and a court located in the state rejecting jurisdiction. I do not get it!
