BREAKING: Appeal to swear in Atiku as president adjourned [See new date]

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Wednesday adjourned till May 18, the appeal seeking to nullify President Muhammadu Buhari’s election in 2019 and swear in Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Nigeria’s leader.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the three-member panel presided by Justice Haruna Tsamani adjourned the appeal to enable the ruling administration to reconcile an issue of representation.

It would be recalled that the Incorporated Trustees of the Civil Society Observatory for Constitutional and Legal Compliance (CSOCLC), through its counsel, Nnamdi Ahaiwe, had in 2019 filed the appeal to throw the Buhari administration out of government over its contention that the affidavit made by President Buhari in the 2019 general elections was false.

At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, two lawyers — Oluwole Afolabi and F. O. Amedu — appeared for both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari. Each argued he is the genuine representative of the ruling government, which caused the judge to postpone the matter.

Buhari, whose two-term tenure expires in 2023, is asking the Court of Appeal to dismiss the appeal seeking to nullify his election.

The Incorporated Trustees of the Civil Society Observatory for Constitutional and Legal Compliance (CSOCLC) is a bunch of undesirable elements. I would be grossly disappointed if Atiku is involved in this. Disgusting!

    2. A very biased government, a government without rule of law, a government full confusion and misleading.

  3. the Incorporated Trustees of the Civil Society Observatory for Constitutional and Legal Compliance (CSOCLC) is a busy-body, nosy interloper with no locus-standi.
The supreme court as the highest court in the land already made a judicial pronouncement on the 2019 presidential election. What is this frivolous exercise in futility all about and why is this particular court entertaining a wasteful misadventure and a waste of the time of the court?

  4. Whatever will bless Nigeria, may God allows be and the understanding of Nigerians not be shortened. Because if the whole Nigeria put together will vote a leader but in the end deem their choice as WRONG, then we pray for the will of God since that of human (Nigerians) has failed
