JUST IN: “Obasanjo is working with IPOB” – Nigerian separatist [VIDEO]

Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, the commander of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF) and self-acclaimed leader of the Biafra Customary Government (BCG) has accused former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo of backing the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The separatist leader has always held grudges with Obasanjo. In a 2014 interview with Premium Times, Asari-Dokubo accused Obasanjo as well as some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of wanting him to rot away in detention in Benin Republic to enable them perpetrate electoral malpractices in the 2015 general elections. He said at the time: “I was buried alive in custody by Obasanjo”. Obasanjo was Nigeria president from 1999 to 2007.

Recounting his ordeal in Benin Republic where he said he runs schools and have over dozens staff, Dokubo-Asari said he kept a low profile life until that country’s authorities received a report from Obasanjo about him, got him arrested, but found him clean after conducting their investigations.

He specifically alleged that ‘OBJ’ as the elder statesman is fondly called, plotted his arrest in the Republic of Benin, when he (Obasanjo) sent his name alongside others to the INTERPOL, asking it to arrest and detain the neighboring West African country.

Now, in a Facebook Live where he discussed Biafra on Wednesday evening, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA, Dokubo linked Obasanjo to the activities of the banned IPOB group — although without providing any evidence.

“The foolish Buffoon, Obasanjo is there, working with you people (IPOB). That idiotic fellow, mischief-maker,” Dokubo said.

Former President Obasanjo could also not be reached for comments.

  1. This a junk and uncivilized journalism. Reporting the ‘toxic’ Dokuboh said rawly instead of quoting him is indicting and very unfair to the 2times Head of Govt. No UK nor USA press will ever report their Ex-President the way we report ours. You either retract or apologize on the poor and libelous piece.

  2. No need of pointing fingers on anyone, give everyone or region a chance so as to feel loved and have sense of belonging, not coming out to vomit nonsense that has no importance to the issue at hand.

  3. Something is wrong here. He was detained in 2015 and Obasanjo was not the president then. Though not defending the single personality wrong with the nation Nigeria and her bane. This Dokubo must have gotten it wrong too. The Otta goon has no power to order the INTERPOL to arrest anybody as a private citizen. I smell a rotten rat of deep seated inuendoes and ill feelings here!
