President Muhammadu Buhari has met with Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong over the recent killing in the North Central state.
The meeting is believed to be concerning the attacks by gunmen suspected Cattle Rustlers which occurred in Kunben village in Kombun District of Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
The President had expressed shock over the incident and grieved by the attack.
While strongly condemning the attack, he had contacted Lalong, military, police and other security agencies in the state to ascertain details of what happened and what can be done to forestall a future occurrence.
Revealing the casualty figure shortly after meeting the president, Lalong said that 13 persons lost their lives in the Thursday attack.
He further revealed to the State House correspondents that four of the attackers have already been arrested and handed over to the Police, while about 100 cows were rescued.
Also reacting to the incident that also took place in Tawari community in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi, as well, the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, has assured that the perpetrators of the recent attacks which claimed over 30 lives would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The Minister who commiserated with the government and people of the two states affirmed that the Police and other security agencies are investigating the attacks with the view to unravelling its root cause and apprehend those responsible accordingly.
