2027: Obi-Kwankwaso ticket unrealistic, says Ex-presidential aide

Bashir Ahmad, former presidential aide, has described the prospect of a joint political ticket between 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and New Nigeria Peoples Party national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso as unrealistic.
In a post on X, Ahmad said there is no practical scenario where Kwankwaso would deputise Obi in any potential alliance.
“There is simply no realistic scenario where Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso would deputize Peter Obi. Those pushing for it need to wake up to the political realities on the ground,” he wrote.
Ahmad said Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state, commands a long-standing political structure and a defined support base that would make such an arrangement unlikely.
“In practical terms, Kwankwaso commands a long-standing structure, a defined political base and a movement that has remained consistent over the years,” he said.
He added that if any alliance were to materialise between the two politicians, the only workable option would be the reverse.
“If such a combination were ever to materialize, the only politically workable arrangement would be the reverse,” he said.
