Dauda Onoruoiza, a Nigerian among victims of Ukrainian plane crash in Iran

Information reaching Politicsnigeria indicates that a Nigerian, Dauda Onoruoiza was part of the victims of the 176 passengers that dies in the Ukraine airliner ‘mistakenly’ shot down by Iran Military in Tehran.

According to Tehran, a statement on Saturday, Iran expressed deep regret, saying it had mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian plane, killing all 176 aboard, despite initially denying it brought down the aircraft in the tense aftermath of Iranian missile strikes on U.S. targets in Iraq.

It was gathered that Onoruoiza, who worked with Boeing, was on a three months training in Ukraine. He was attached with the Boeing 737-800 to fly with to study the Mechanical noise and report back to the company because the said plane was scheduled for maintenance on Monday. 13th January 2020 in Ukraine.

Other victims involved in the incident were 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, four Afghanistan, three from the United Kingdom, and Germany, respectively.

The event happened a few hours after Iran had fired over a dozen ballistic missiles at US military bases in Iraq as a retaliation for the death of its General, Qassem Soleimani killed in an airstrike by the US Government.

The admittance to ‘human error’ had led to protests by students in the country.
