JUST IN: 2023 presidential aspirant confirms he’ll dump PDP

A former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso on Thursday confirmed that he is set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that there were speculations about Kwankwaso joining the NNPP. The 2023 presidential aspirant has now confirmed that report.

According to him, he would properly announce his next line of action before the end of March.

“I didn’t see anything that either APC or PDP will show or tell Nigerians to get convinced and vote for them in the coming 2023 elections,” Kwankwaso told BBC News Hausa. “So I think people should now come to think of the right party and people to support and vote for so that we can rescue the present situation.”

In February, Kwankwaso had joined forces with some of his associates to launch a new movement ‘The National Movement’ (TNM).

The movement includes Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi of Kaduna State; ex-Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung; and Alhaji Buba Galadima.

Others are elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai; Air Vice Marshall Ifeanaju (retd); Solomon Edoda; Prince Nweze Onu; Falasade Aliyu; Prof. Rufai Alkali; Senator Grace Bent; Senator Umale Shittu; Ibrahim Ringim; Ali Gwaska; Paul Okala; and Rufai Hanga.
