Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has notified his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, of his intention to succeed him in 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Osinbajo made his intention known to Buhari recently.
Osinbajo had first consulted some prominent Nigerians who encouraged him to contest for the presidency. They also encouraged him to inform Buhari. He was however advised not to allow a third party to tell President Buhari so that his ambition will not be misconstrued.
This newspaper gathered that President Buhari “blessed” Osinbajo’s ambition — just as he did to Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader.
Although, Osinbajo has not formally declared his ambition, his supporters have been campaigning for him. In January, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Political Matters, who works directly under Osinbajo, declared that he will work against Tinubu.
Osinbajo (SAN) is a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and a former Attorney General of Lagos State.

Good news! The cap actually fit HE Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The issue here in my opinion is that APC as a party must come together, settled all aggrieved parties, agreed based on unity of purpose to present a consensus presidential candidate since it is zoned to a particular zone.
It’s father and son game now, but in politics no permanent friends…it’s personal interest that’s matters. Whichever way the pendulum swings, we keep our fingers crossed ⚔️
