Omoyele Sowore, the National Leader of the African Action Congress (AAC) and 2023 presidential aspirant, on Saturday dismissed reports that he spoke favourably about Peter Obi, a fellow presidential hopeful and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Sowore, Obi is among corrupt politicians in Nigeria.
“The news being circulated that I said Peter Obi is not CORRUPT is completely FALSE! I never said any such thing. My position is clear, Peter Obi is not different from his colleagues in PDP and APC. They are one and the same! Thank you!” he wrote on his verified Facebook page.
Obi, the vice presidential candidate of the PDP at the 2019 general election, declared his interest to contest the presidency in 2023 during a meeting with Anambra State monarchs on Thursday. He vowed to move Nigeria forward if given the opportunity to lead the country.
Obi’s declaration came just after the presidential flagbearer of the PDP at the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar, had also declared his interest.
Atiku, who contested alongside Obi, as his vice-presidential candidate, declared his interest on Wednesday.
