Deji Adeyanju, a former Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday declared that one of the presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, “doesn’t stand any chance in PDP”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that although Adeyanju concedes Obi is one of the most popular candidates for the 2023 presidential election, he cannot possibly achieve the presidency. Adeyanju questioned where Obi will get the delegates votes from.
“Peter Obi is one of the most popular candidates for the next election but he doesn’t stand any chance in PDP. Where will he get delegates votes to win from? This is one person I would love PDP to give their ticket to because of equity. Igbos should naturally have the right of first refusal in this but politics is just strange,” Adeyanju wrote on his verified Facebook page.
Ceteris paribus, the PDP will conduct a national convention to nominate its Presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections on the 28 and 29 of May, 2022.
