President Muhammadu Buhari and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday night.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu is one of the APC presidential aspirants in respect of the 2023 election.
The 70-year-old is a colossal figure in Nigerian politics. He previously served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and Senator for Lagos West during the brief Third Republic.
Although he was forced into exile in 1994 due to his activism, Tinubu returned after Sani Abacha’s 1998 death triggered the beginning of the transition to the Fourth Republic.
After leaving office as Lagos Governor in 2007, Tinubu retained his status as one of Nigeria’s most influential politicians as his allies often filled high offices throughout the southwest and he played a key role in the formation of the APC in 2013.
