Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district, has said that going by recent developments with regards to the 2023 election, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, will likely purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential form.
Melaye was reacting to the news of some groups buying the APC’s expression of interest and Presidential nomination forms for the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Although not known to be a member of the ruling APC, Emefiele’s campaign posters were posted at the venue of the APC’s national convention in March.
Now, with the purchase of the presidential form for the CBN governor on Friday, many public commentators and politicians posit that he has indeed joined partisan politics.
“The way things are going, INEC Chairman sef go buy APC Presidential form ooo,” Melaye wrote on his known Twitter handle on Friday night.
