BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu sends fresh message to ‘Unknown Gunmen’

The detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday, ordered that the bloodletting in the Southeast region perpetrated by the so-called ‘Unknown Gunmen’, must stop, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Emmanuel, Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, relayed the IPOB leader’s message, according to Vanguard.

He had visited Kanu (routine) in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) earlier today.

Kanu was quoted as saying that all those behind the current killings in southeast must be held accountable for their atrocities, adding that Igbo people are not known for cannibalism, beheadings, or mindless killings.

Kanu’s message is coming after police discovered the severed head of a state legislator who went missing last week in Anambra State. In Anambra and other southeast states, the federal government has accused separatists of carrying out a spate of killings and kidnappings.

IPOB has been leading calls for the secession of the region, the homeland of the Igbo ethnic group, from the rest of Nigeria. Its leader, Kanu, is being charged with “terrorism” and treason by the federal government.
