As the 2023 election approaches, presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu, on Wednesday asked former Nigerian leader, Goodluck Jonathan, ‘not to bother’ running for office again.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Jonathan on Tuesday met with Mamman Daura, the influential nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari amid reports that he will be facing the presidential screening of the All Progressives Congress (APC) this week.
In a photo sighted by this newspaper, Jonathan is seen shaking hands with Daura.
The former President had last month asked his supporters to “watch out” following calls for him to contest.
A coalition of Fulani/Almajiri groups purchased the N100 million form of the APC for him.
When news of his APC nomination forms went viral, Jonathan had distanced himself from the group.
Subsequently, the group claimed Jonathan would turn up for the screening of presidential aspirants in Abuja.
In a similar vein, the National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Suleiman Argungu, confirmed that Jonathan would be screened.
The Bayelsa-born politician’s romance with the APC has got many Nigerians talking, especially on social media. And Moghalu also bared his mind.
“It seems ex-President @GEJonathan forgot something in Aso Rock he is angling to go back and pick up. He shouldn’t bother. I will find whatever it is and mail it to him when I am the tenant there from May 2023,” Moghalu wrote on his known Twitter handle.
