A Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Young Progressives Congress (YPP), Adamu Garba on Friday questioned why beneficiaries of APC National leader, Bola Tinubu’s ‘political wealth’, are not the major promoters of his presidential ambition.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that ahead of the presidential primaries of the APC next week, stakeholders from the southwest are divided over the aspirations of Tinubu and Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Several southwest political leaders and mentees of Tinubu are reportedly not supporting him. For instance, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State publicly backed Prof. Osinbajo, an indigene of the state.
Conversely, some Northern political leaders like Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State and former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, are behind Tinubu.
Garba stated: “Quite alright Tinubu is betrayed, not by Buhari but by his lieutenants like Osibanjo, Ministers, Governors from the Southwest, etc.
“Look at his surroundings, you’ll find Kashim, Abu Ibrahim, Ganduje, Kashim-Imam, Aminu Suleman etc. Where are his beneficiaries? I hate betrayal!” Garba said in a Twitter update.
