APC Primaries: “S/West aspirants still discussing consensus” – Sanwo-Olu

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, on Tuesday evening, said the door is not closed on the possibility of a consensus southwest candidate.

POLITICS NIGERIA understands that stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have been able to trim down the list of presidential aspirants of the APC to two.

This news medium understands that Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, are the leading aspirants.

However, the moves by the South West elders to come up with a consensus presidential aspirant for the region seem to have hit the rock as Osinbajo and Tinubu, are said to be adamant.

The stakeholders are still in the process of negotiation.

“It’s been a very difficult task for us. Up until two, three hours ago, we were still consulting,” Sanwo-Olu told the press. “In politics, never say never. Things can begin to happen right here, later tonight.”
