Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), on Thursday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to “facilitate speedy registration” of Nigerians to enable them exercise their franchise in 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that online pre-registration ended May 30, and the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ends 30 June.
Obi alleged that in the Southeast region particularly, voter registration “is dogged by inertia and bureaucratic bottlenecks”.
“Information reaching me indicate that voter registration across Nigeria, more so in the South East, is dogged by inertia and bureaucratic bottlenecks.
“I respectfully call on @inecnigeria to facilitate speedy registration of Nigerians to enable them exercise their voting rights,” Obi wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, INEC ratified the Labour Party’s leadership structure, recognising officials loyal to presidential candidate, Obi.
This follows the declaration of Jude Ezenwafor, a former chairman of the LP in Anambra state, as the winner of a presidential primary organised by a faction of the party.
Ezenwafor, a sole aspirant, was elected through affirmation at the exercise which held in Abuja on Wednesday.
HE SHOULD FIRST TELL HIS MAUDEROUS biafraudulent KINSMEN TO ALLOW INEC DO ITS WORK AND THAT SHOULD BE THE STARTING POINT.
It is disingenuous to attempt to accuse the election umpire of inertia when all the tools and space for the slow or no action in the region is caused by his own people.
This bulk passing is disingenuous and fraudulent and coming from a Hollier-than-thou fellow who wants to govern Nigeria.
THESE PEOPLE ARE ALL LIARS AND NIGEIRANS SHOULD BEGIN TO TAKE NOTE OF THE NATURE OF HYPOCRITES GUNNING FOR POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY IN NIGERIA.
All signs of caution are there for us to see and inform our choices and political decisions.
