As the 2023 elections draws near, Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, on Thursday “profoundly apologised” to Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Omokri, he has been guilty of using Tinubu’s health status against him.
“I have been guilty of using Bola Tinubu’s health status against him. I now realise that if we don’t die early, we will all age and may suffer ill health. Thus, I profoundly apologise to @officialABAT and promise to focus on issues henceforth. May God bless you all,” Omokri wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
Since last year (2021), Tinubu, 70, has visited London, United Kingdom (UK) for medical treatments. Although the former Lagos State Governor insists his health has improved, many of his critics have expressed worry over his health status, especially considering incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, severally visited UK too for medical treatments.
Tinubu will battle for the presidential seat with the likes of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
