A former federal lawmaker, Dino Melaye, on Friday said Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), is not the best man to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Melaye, a top campaigner of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said although Obi is “a good man”, he “lacks the capacity to unify Nigerians”.
“I celebrate you, Peter Obi, and I celebrate your movement for a new Nigeria.
“I want to advise that your time is not now. I have listened to your arguments, and I can say that 90% of your campaign is dwelling on reducing the cost of governance.
“The problem of this country is beyond that. It is less than 1% of our national problem. What we need today in this country is to unify this country [sic],” Melaye said in a video posted on his verified Facebook page.

You are right Dino but, it will be very difficult to unite a country where hunger, premature death, insecurity, herdsmen, thieves, kidnappers etc are seriously ravaging. See Dino, the country has become like an tattered vehicle that has lost control. You need to control and stop the car before taking it to a panel beater. I know the area you listened to in his campaign where he said that he reduced the cost of governance to save money for Anambra state. There is where he spoke about curbing insecurity, he narrated how he will unify the country.
