As the 2023 general election approaches in Nigeria, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe, on Sunday asked southeast leaders to be definite about their choice.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the South-East zone of Igbokwe’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly set its sight on the positions of Senate President (SP) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) if the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, wins the 2023 general elections.
Prior to the presidential primary elections of both the ruling APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Igbo leaders demanded Southeast presidency, asking the two main parties to zone their ticket to the region.
The APC and PDP ignored their clamours.
Now, they are reportedly making another demand.
“Leaders of Igbo Nation must collectively and clearly bring their thoughts together to say what we want. We want SSG and SP. We want Biafra too. What do we want as critical stakeholders in Nigeria?” Igbokwe wrote on his known Facebook page.
