POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the incident happened around 9am on Sunday and left nine bandits and three vigilante members dead.
Major Ishaku Takwa, the spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), confirmed the incident to the press, but could not ascertain the casualty figure.
According to him, the troops repelled the attack and moved to the Gajin Bashar community to fight bandits who also stormed the area.
The terrorists had given quit notices to residents of Sabon Zama, Gindin Dutse, Anguwan Tsohon Soldier, Anguwan Yuhana and Anguwan Mangu villages of Wase to vacate their areas or face trouble.
