A former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, on Wednesday dismissed report that he has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Agbaje was rumoured to have left the PDP for the party.
The report has been trending on Facebook and WhatsApp, quoting him to have said he was dumping the opposition party to work for Bola Tinubu, the presidential flagbearer of the ruling party in respect of the 2023 election.
“No truth to the story,” Agbaje said, according to Daily Trust.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, has said he picked popular actress Funke Akindele as his running mate for the 2023 general elections, because she can add value to his candidacy.
Adediran, fondly called Jandor, was speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme on Tuesday, monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA.
“The purpose of an election is to win an election. And everybody that can add value to you, you use [sic]. My running mate is a brand that connects with people both at the grassroots level, and [to] my people at the cyber space.
“So combination of that forces [sic] already spell doom for Lagos APC in 2023,” Adediran said.
