JUST IN: President Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Summit, Holiday
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is returning to Nigeria today after attending the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW2026) with some of his ministers.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the sidelines of the summit.
The agreement is designed to strengthen economic cooperation, increase bilateral trade and investment, promote technology transfer, and foster collaboration in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.
During his speech, President Tinubu announced that a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA event will take place in Lagos in February to attract global investors.
He also revealed that Nigeria plans to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial financing as the country advances energy transition reforms and expands electricity access nationwide.
