A commentator on Nigerian affairs, Deji Adeyanju, on Monday said Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), “is likely to support” Bola Tinubu, presidential standard-bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), because the former Kano State governor “can’t wait for 16 more years to try to be president”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Adeyanju, Kwankwaso, like other Nigerian politicians, “think of self-preservation”.
“Kwankwaso’s likely to support for Tinubu is because of this reason. He can’t wait for 16 more years to try to be president,” Adeyanju wrote on his known Twitter handle.
“Politicians think of self preservation before anything else.
“Same with Peter Obi, he prefers Atiku Abubakar than Tinubu. He was in Atiku’s house two days before joining the Labour Party.
Meanwhile, Nigerian youths have invited Tinubu, Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso to discuss issues affecting them.
The presidential hopefuls have been invited to speak at the 2022 International Youth Day Celebrations of the Leaders of Today Global Youth Forum.
The event which will also witness a Voter Awareness Walk is scheduled for August 12, 2022, at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Conference Centre in Kado, Abuja.
