The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is optimistic that the disagreement between Iyorchia Ayu, its National Chairman and Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, will be resolved amicably.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that reacting to Governor Wike’s outburst during his media chat on Friday, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ibrahim Abdullahi, stated that the opposition party would find a way to resolve the crisis on time to prepare for the 2023 polls.
Concerning the governor daring the party to sanction him, Punch quotes Abdullahi as saying: “Wike has defiantly pursued a course, which should ordinarily be resolved amicably.
“He is one of the best we’ve got in terms of performance and we cannot afford to discard him.
“He should give peace a chance and sheath his sword
“These issues will be resolved in spite of the seeming intractable nature.
“Governor Wike cannot afford to destroy a house he has laboured to build with uncommon zeal.”
