The immediate past Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, has said that members of the board are disturbed as the crisis rocking the party showed no sign of abating with the 2023 general elections just four months away.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Jibrin enjoined party organs to remain united even as he took a swipe at the National Working Committee (NWC) over what he called the “division” in its fold.
“We must not allow division like we are now witnessing in the NWC. All other organs must understand that the party constitution is supreme,” he told Punch, warning that “Once the NWC members accommodate loopholes in the administration of the party, the PDP is finished.”
This newspaper learned that the BoT will this week meet to deliberate on the crisis.
The PDP has been engrossed in a leadership crisis in recent months leading to calls from the Southern bloc for the resignation of its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu. The resignation demand is championed by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
What governor Wike is saying is the right thing to be done,if the party has denied him all his ambitions why not listen to that cry alone for peace to rain.
