Progressive Governors’ Forum, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) are currently in a meeting with the presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting is happening at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The meeting, a follow-up to last Wednesday’s, is to harmonise the party’s campaign council list, review and approve the nationwide presidential campaign programme prepared by the Governor Simon Lanlong’s PCC.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was rescheduled due to the National Awards ceremony.
This newspaper learned that top members of the Tinubu/Senator Kashim Shettima PCC are also part of the meeting.
According to sources, the issue composition of the party’s PCC inauguration and when the ruling party would formally kick off its campaigns is on the agenda of matters to be discussed at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Governor Simon Lalong-led APC Campaign Council has disclosed that the party’s campaign will not be funded by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Instead, it maintained that the nationwide rallies to solicit votes from Nigerians will be partly financed by businessmen as well as deductions from the salaries of political appointees.
