BREAKING: Federal High Court adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s case

The Federal High Court Abuja on Monday adjourned Nnamdi Kanu’s case without any future date being designated for resumption, pending the outcome of the appeal at the Supreme Court.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that terrorism-charged Kanu is the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The federal government had filed an appeal challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal on October 13, which discharged all remaining charges preferred against Kanu at the Supreme Court.

But during the resumption of his case on Monday, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, agreed with Kanu’s legal team that it lacks the jurisdiction to hear any further charge against the IPOB leader, considering the Court of Appeal’s verdict which discharged him recently.

Reacting to the development via his verified Facebook, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of Kanu’s lawyers wrote: “We are winning! Supreme Court here we come!

“No going back on Onyedu’s freedom.

“Our appeal to set aside the order staying the execution of Onyendu’s judgment will be fixed for hearing any moment from now.

“We shall keep you all posted.
