Ahead of the 2023 election, Isaac Fayose, younger brother to former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said that he will start supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Fayose, being a Yoruba, he finds it “stressful” backing a presidential candidate of Igbo extraction considering people from that part of Nigeria ‘do not trust him’.
“Supporting Peter Obi is so stressful for a Yoruba person.
“The Igbos don’t trust themselves so how do I even expect them to trust me.
“I gave my hotel, time, money, sometimes my food bank and my space they still abuse me everyday,” he wrote on his known Facebook page.
Following this post, a Facebook user accused him of secretly supporting Tinubu and working against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to which he replied: “I will start supporting Tinubu now….He is my Yoruba brother.”
You are playing ethnic politics. Those people you said that are insulting you are not Igbos. You just want to give a dog bad name to hang it.
Thank you Mr Ray my brother, when one wants to kill a dog it will give it a bad name to justify the killing I am not surprised at his statement and actions that means that he has been working against Peter Obi and Datti and the Labour Party let him do his wish because no man is God.
I thing he is support tinibu because of tinibu was a yuroba man okay let him go ahead let Igbo man supporting Igbo man and hausa Fulani can supporting. Hausa Fulani man it is in order
You clearly do not understand sarcasm. He publicly supports Obi yet some people from the SE still accused him of secretly supporting Tinubu. That’s why he said since they don’t trust him after all he did, he’s better off supporting Thiefnubu then. I’m Yoruba and I hate Thiefnubu more than you. I guess you’re Igbo. If yes, your people need to do better with the distrust and insults, it’s discouraging many people from giving their support to Obi. I’m rooting for Obi anyway but I can’t decide for others if they think otherwise because of insults hurled at them by Igbos.
Go ahead and support Tinubu. That’s your right but we are going to suffer together. This is no time to play ethnic politics.
The same way you guys are playing ethnic politics. So many of us were supporting Obi initially but your people are unnecessarily aggressive. All they do is abuse and attack like a lion.
Even in Rivers State the Igbos are making it ethnic.
They’re the ones that kept 9ja the way it is, now they’re acting like people hate Igbos. History don’t lie, we know what happened that brought the first civil war in Nigeria. Me I love Igbos, but if they want to go for there own country, they should leave us alone , the ijaws. We’re on our own. With onelove we believe in democracy.
My brother we are never one nation. Let’s tell our self’s the truth. Divide this useless union and let people go and face their development differently.
And what politics does an average Igbo folk play. You guys are masters of ethnic politics but always pretend to be victims of ethnic oppression. You don’t put all your eggs in a basket and expect the rest of the country to had the presidency to you on a player of gold.
Tribal politics has no space in Nigeria
We should not allow trivialities like ethnicity to lead us into voting against what we know to be right. Remember what Osinbajo said immediately after the APC primary election. IF Isaac Fayose sincerely believe in Obi-Datti and their mission to salvage the nation from its present position, he should forget about any tribal affiliation
What will be will be. If God wants Obi to become president, dorsile persons like Fayose junior will not even lift a stone.
Follow your conscience if you have any and stop insulting igbo nation because of your socalled support. After all you and your likes supported buhari out of hatred for tribe. The tribulation from your decisions is felt by all including your tribe
Sometimes it is good to stay where your future and that of your children is secured.
Asiwaju remain the best candidate for the job.
